Hard Out Review

How persuasive is Michael Westen?? Last night’s ep really showed me that a mouth can easily be brought to a gun fight. In an atmosphere full of trigger-ready mercenaries and a hot-headed leader, the security clearance team (Agent Pierce, Jesse and Mike) slipped right under the enemy’s feet and destroyed their entire operation and even the head boss. All this drama; however, was of course for the new assignment Agent Pierce briefed to Michael. Max’s investigation? Not really going well, so the assignment was to extract Steve Keio, a low-life who works as a go-between for bad guys around the globe. Sounds easy, right? Well, things sometimes turn for the worst. The CIA wanted to keep it very low key so they shortened their manpower. Only 3 people were authorized including Pierce and Mike. So, Jesse was pulled out of his slight inconvenience to  join for what Michael assumed to be an in-out job practically a vacation to the carribean.

Meanwhile in Mike’s personal life, Jacob (Michael’s impersonator) left Miami without his boss killing him even though he thought he did. His boss wired a boat to explode in deep water, so Michael took a bit of C4 from it and geared it on automatic while he jumped out. With the bomb being the work of a master’s touch, the plan becomes to locate this master through Arman (Fiona’s ex and “friend” to those in need). Arman agrees to help Fiona in exchange for a gran theft auto.

A vacation was a long shot after the team briefly interrogated Keio and discovered that they were not getting off the island. Instead of staying invisible for a short time, the team had to join the fun with the mercenaries as a covert security group hired by the company in charge of the soldiers. To make sure they couldn’t call out, they destroyed the COM link which stirred a lot of riff and was greatly used by Mike to get the intel that could potentially take out a few American bases. Mike’s persuasion led to Van der Wal going to Jackson ready to shoot. With a room full of guns aimed at Jackson, Mike (with nothing) gets Van der Wal to shoot Jackson after he drew his weapon. Afterwards, because Van der Wal wanted to meet with Mike’s boss at the “pyramid group”, that was the team’s cue to capture him. They called in a helicopter and eventually took the guns from some of the mercenaries who were with Van der Wal and revealed themselves. Agent Pierce kneed and elbowed Van der Wal as a comeback and very much realized that Michael was crazy when it comes to espionage.

Tune in for “Eye for an Eye” airing Thursday 8/18. The master bomb maker is found and isn’t going down without a boom! maybe  2 or 3.
